Job Title: Business Development Manager - GEM Business

Location: Delhi & Mumbai
Reporting To: National Sales Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Business Development Manager to drive business growth through government channels and manage operations on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. The role involves identifying government business opportunities, participating in bids/tenders, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of GeM orders.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within government departments, PSUs, and public sector organizations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government clients and procurement officials.

  • Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue growth through government and institutional channels.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities in the government sector.

GeM Portal Management

  • Manage and operate the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal including product listing, updates, and compliance.

  • Identify relevant GeM bids, tenders, and reverse auctions and participate accordingly.

  • Prepare and submit quotations, technical documents, and tender documentation on the GeM portal.

  • Track bid status, order processing, and ensure timely completion of documentation.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with sales, finance, logistics, and operations teams for smooth execution of GeM orders.

  • Monitor order processing, invoicing, and payment follow-ups through GeM.

  • Maintain accurate records of bids, sales pipeline, and order status.

  • Provide regular sales and activity reports to the National Sales Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in business development, government sales, or GeM portal management.

  • Strong understanding of GeM bidding process, reverse auctions, and government procurement procedures.

  • Good communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in IT hardware, electronics, surveillance, or technology products will be an added advantage.

  • Prior experience dealing with government tenders and PSU procurement processes.
